Son of a ...! Just got a recall notice in the mail.....
I replaced both myself, cost me $250 and a weekend's time. There was a recall out, but I was told by the dealer and AoA that my VIN wasn't included.
So I get a recall notice for, you guessed it, faulty ignition switches on my car (letter says "some 1996 and 1997 model year Audi A4 vehicles").
So what do I do? I'm looking for a refund. I'm sure the dealer will just tell me to call AoA.
Is asking for reimbursment of parts and labor asking too much?
I can probably get a quote for parts and labor for a switch and starter replacement from the dealer.
I'd be happy with just parts, but if I can be reimbursed for my time, I'll take it
Check with AoA.
