Default Twin Turbos
So, I've been pondering with some of my friends about how a car with dual turbos (such as the S4) works. We've come to the conclusion that either one turbo powers one half of the cylinders and the other turbo powers the other half or it's a staged compression type thing, where one turbo compresses the air, and the second takes that air and compresses it more. Just wondering, any input would be great!

Default 1 for 3 cyclinders...
as in twin or bi turbo

they do have sequential turbos, diff in size and start boosting at diff rpm range

S4's turbos do the same work, each for half the cylinders. The Supra TT has sequential ones

Default what?
the two turbos are the same size, one for low RPM and one for High RPM. Eliminates lag, smaller turbo aids in faster spool up. And the boost engages all six cylinders.

Default no. Each Turbo does the same as the other, for each half of the engine. See Ron's link above.
In a sequential set-up such as the Supra, they operate differently at different RPMs. But that's not the case on the S4.
