Homelink Garage Door Opener -- Accessory Power??

Default Homelink Garage Door Opener -- Accessory Power??
Anybody know why in the hell the power going to the built in Homelink garage door opener is accessory power and not constant?? As a matter of habit I am used to opening the garage door before I turn the key in the ignition. Every other car including my IS 300 is constant power. . .

Default It's because it's wired to the accessory circuit ;-)
I F**KING hate it too. Not fully thought through, kinda like the seats. (wheel ratchet seat back in a spot you can't get your hand)

It's for safety -- ratcheted seats don't collapse in a collision like locking seats do
