Has anyone here seen one in the flesh and/or driven one. If so...which version...your impressions, etc.
Default TT is built on the "A4" platform (Jetta/Golf/Octavia/et al); A4 is built on the "B3" platform...

so they're really not related. Interior is much tighter, with frameless doors, and in the one I sat it I felt pretty low and connected to the car. Actually, in ambiance it felt a lot more like an SLK than an A4...
-josh

Default Mac struts in front rather than the fancy virtual center...

See the recent issue of Sports Car International for a discussion of this difference, detected in the fwd coupe, though not an issue in the quattro.

The A4 platform name and the A4 model name make everything very confusing!

Default I have driven one!

Had the chance to drive the 180 HP FWD version a month ago I have a 200 HP 1.8T Avant (see it in the gallery on www.autobahnint.com). When it comes to driving pleasure, I would not trade in my car for the 180 HP FWD Audi TT. The 180 HP TT is too well behaved. Have not had the chance to test the 225 HP Quattro yet. In Germany several companies have annouced chips for the 225 HP version.

Regards
Tommy A, 1.8T Avant Avantgarde

Default In other words the FWD TT sucks!

And I have a FWD A4 which does not suck. This is what I got out of Sport Car International review.
I`ve driven the 180 bhp FWD TT, and to me it was a disappointment, when it comes to the pure driving experience. My 220 bhp quattro A4 is a better drive. The torque steer is demanding in strong acceleration with the TT, but this almost vanishes with 4WD. IMO, 180 bhp is too much for FWD.
Reese
97 A4 Avant 1.8TQ
