Red interior light installed! Thanks Stan and a few observations

Your instructions were excellent and I am very happy with the relults

A few things I noticed during the install that may help others. Oh I used a 250 Ohm resistor with good results.1. I have a 98.5 1.8T QMS with all options except Bose. Everything works the same as you described for the 2.82. You didn't mention you removed the stock white dome light, maybe you didn't. I removed mine and like the results. There is still enough light from the two reading lights.3. The hot (+) wire to the sunroof wich you tap into for power on mine was actually red with an orange stripe. No big deal but it made me think twice.Once again THANKS Stan. This is a very worthwhile mod.RobS

Not quite...

Rob,I did not remove the original bulb. As per my instructions, "no modifications were made to the standard lighting". The LED goes thru the clear bulb with ease, it uses it as diffusor which is very much to our content. When you turn on the dome lights you probably want to get all you can get and then the red LED doesn't matter.Yes the wire is red with orange stripe. Since it's the only thing even remotely resembling red, though, I was "generous" :-) I will fix the docs later tonight when I am back home.Glad you are enjoying it!- Stan
