New paint CURING TIME?
Others have commented that the paint on new Audi A4's needs additional time to CURE completely:<p>1) Does this additional curing time differ for the micas, solid, and metallic paints? (I am particularly interested in Santorin Blue mica and Aluminum Silver metallic / Light Silver).<p>2) Have any long-term owners of Santorin Blue or Silver A4's noticed an increasing resistance to chipping and scratching over time?<p>3) Will initially leaving a new A4 in south Florida sunshine accelerate this curing process?<p>4) How long should I wait before initially washing, waxing, and/or polishing a new A4?<p>TIA!

Don't worry about your paint...you can wax you can wash and, at least with my green 96'A4Q...drive it a little bit and watch the paint fall off your car. Three months after I picked it up I had to have the drivers door repainted because it changed color.....It has to be the worst paint job ever on a new car......

No Cure Time needed...
There is no CURE time. The shells of the cars are run through ovens at the factory and are dry when they leave. Don't let anyone else tell you otherwise, they are full of s%@t. Wax it right away and keep the salt, acid rain, beating sun, etc off the car. It's just that simple.<p>
