Wind Noise Giving Me a Headache!

Has anyone been experiencing tremendous wind noise due to cross wind? My driver side window (top corner along the door frame) emits a loud noise, as if the window was partially open, when I drive over 70 mph. It is starting to really bother me! Does anyone have a solution? 98.5 1.8TQTR

I've got the EXACT same problem...I think the dealer will have to "re-align" the door

try this (medium)

i had a bad wind noise problem passenger's rear door. They rehung the door, then it didn't close properly. Took 2 trips to dealer to rectify. yuckNow i am noticing wind noise in upper left of driver's door. I could make the noise go away by grabbing the upper frame of the door, and pulling it in slightly at the top. I looked at it from the outside and every bit of rubber seems to be sealing properly, and the door looks well hung. (no comments pls) So i looked at the gasket not on the door, but the car frame. What i did was grabbed the gasket and gently pulled it out a bit. I thought that it might have compressed over time.This fixed it. I am going to "pump up" all the gaskets. As you have a new car, if this fixes the problem, i would consider that it might not be the door alignment, but may be that the gasket needs replacing?1996 a4 2.8 qmps i think that because the car is sooo quiet, i am much more sensitive to wind noise. In my laser/talon all i heard was road noise. (did u know there is sound deadening material beneath the steering wheel?)

Yep, I've got the exact same prob on my 98 w/ 7K miles, same fix too

I fixed it my self. First pull in the door at the top wth your fingers to see if that solves the noise problem. If the noise gos away then take a block of 2x4 covered with padding, a towel will do, and put it in the door at the bottom sill and carefully but forcefully "spring" the top in. NOTE: put the window down before you do this. This saved a day in the dealers shop and possible futher screw ups. Good luck -- let me know how it worked.
