Concert radio display bugs

Has anyone else found odd intermittent bugs in the stock Concert head display ? A few weeks ago when I powered up all of the display positions cycled rapidly and continuously through all digits (i.e. every position was rapidly counting from 0 to 9 over and over again). When I turned off and on again display became normal. Then tonight all the radio display was not illuminated - lights were on, center console light normally, but head unit completely dark. Again radio power on/off a couple of times and the display finally comes on normal - spooky.<p>Mark M. 99 A4 Avant 2.8 Tip Q - love it !

The first "problem" you described, i.e., "the display positions cycled rapidly and continuously through all digits" is normal when you turn on the radio and press Preset 1 at the same time - this is a diagnostic mode, and it gives you the strength of the radio signal, 1 being the lowest, going up to 0 (like 10) and then from A through E, being the strongest signal. So maybe you pressed the Preset 1 when you turned the radio on. If not, than it could be some short in it, which would then explain the no-lights thing as well. Go to the dealer… Good luck.
