is it worth the money to buy an orbital buffer for about $100...
my father bought one of those polishmasters from bj's for $30. is that the same thing as an orbital buffer.
A $100 porter cable makes detailing the car go A LOT quicker. It takes about 4 hours to wash, clay bar, dry, glaze, and wax my car. clay barring takes up about 30 minutes of that entire process, and you only do that once a year, if that frequently. You can probably cut that time down to 2 hours with a buffer.
Ever since then I do it myself by hand. The results have been much better, with no swirl marks at all.

You'll use the buffer to apply the glaze and wax, but not to buff it off; still do this by hand with 100% cotton diapers. I use 3M Imperial Hand Glaze (with the speed of the buffer at "1"), and I've also used the Machine Glaze. I use One Grande Blitz wax for waxing. It's a carnuba wax that lasts a long time, but it's easy to buff off.
