Just got my KO4 kit What weight of oil should I use?

Default I think most recommend a slightly thicker weights
I've seen some running 10/30 during the winter, and as high as 10/50 during the summer.

Why would 0-30 or 5-30 be OK for a chipped K03 and not for a K04?

Default K04 runs a bit hotter than K03
Thus, the requirement for a slightly thicker oil.

That's not true. Asked to make the same boost, a KO3 will run hotter.

Default At the same boost, I'd agree, but doesn't the K04 push more boost?
That's the reason I'd expect it to require thicker weight oil. More boost means more heat, which requires thicker oil.

Default My point was, asked to perform the same amount of work, a KO4 will run cooler cause it's more effic.
So therefore, a KO4 actually runs cooler than a KO3, ceteris paribus.
