New Rotors Needed?
Took my '96 A4 in for a belt replacement and they told me a needed my front brakes done. They want $500! They want to replace the rotors as well as the pads. I asked if they mic'd the rotors to see if they were out of spec. No, they hadn't, they just change the rotors anyway. Well, the car has about 65k miles on it and the rotors are not warped.
My take is to just put new pads on, unless I see a lot of groving or if the rotors are worn below some unknown (to me) spec.
Any feedback on this??

just got new rear pads and rotor yesterday on mine (more)
I think $500 is way overprices! I payed $384 for my job. Then again the front rotors might be a lot more expensive than the rears. But the pads should be pretty cheap. Mine are like 66bucks for 2 pads.
