Supplying own parts?
Went to one place that said they wouldn't do it. Went to a second place that said they would, but a few hours later the manager called me and said, "Oh I see you're supplying your own parts, we can't do the job with your parts..."
Well duh, I believe I made that clear when I dropped off the car. He responds, "Well, if you're supplying the parts, where am I making my money?"
"I assume it's off your $65/hr labor rate... I'll be there in 5 minutes to get my key".
Finally got the work done at a friend's garage, but had he not been a friend I don't think he would have done it either. Anyone else running into this?

My advice...find a German car/Audi specialist in your area. They'll take better care of your car than most dealers, since you'll establish a good working relationship with them, so they'll get to know you and the car's history... and you'll only pay for the labor time that they actually work on the car. I'm so tired of seeing bills coming back from dealers for the "suggested" time being almost double than the actually time worked on my cars. I stopped going to dealers a long time ago, so buying my A4 and taking it to the dealer is rather nerve racking for me. I simply just don't trust them. Although, my faith has been restored recently by the dealer that I've been going to lately.
*sorry for the babbling - I think I had too coffee this morning*
