Is 2002 1.8 handling, lighter in feel?

Is 2002 1.8 handling, lighter in feel?

I have a 2.8 which I've always felt was somewhat "heavy" (it being quattro and all).

When my lease expires shortly, I'm looking at the new 1.8. From what I've read, the handling is more responsive and not as heavy. Can anyone confirm this?

2002 body is heavier, but supposedly handles better

I think that's because it's slower

100lbs heavier....a bit stiffer suspension, but probably handles much better cause it is slower
