Default clutch/throttle modulation

Has anyone noticed that when shifting (manual trans), the A4 (mine is 98.5 TQMS) seems to apply a little throttle at the time the clutch engages on release? In effect, the gas pedal feels like it is automatically depressed slighly when the clutch pedal is moving up from the floor. Maybe just my imagination.

Default That's interesting, someone mentioned the same thing just the other day...

To a person that was seeking advise on this forum on how to drive a manual. I thought it was kinda wierd cause I'm used to running the rpm's upto around 2.5-3k before I begin to disengage the clutch. I will give this a shot and see if the same thing applies to a 2000 1.8TQ.

Default I've noticed that in my 96 2.8, but heres what it could be -

The fact that Audi clutches engage so high, tells me that maybe my timing is off by a few milliseconds, so I'm disengaging the clutch a little earlier, resulting in an RPM increase of ~100 rpms.

This mistiming is better than letting off the gas first, which causes the car to deaccellerate and lunge forward a bit...and a rougher ride in general.

It might be for emissions control. Many cars "hold on" to revs just for that reason

Default The heavy flywheel 'simulates' this.

It's blueprinted like this on purpose so 'anyone' will be able to drive it smoothly. It's the flywheel.
