Default Those who wired up the E-brake function on their Turbo Timer..

I'm trying to wire up mine now and the manual states that 1 of the 2 wires should go high when the ebrake is released (12V) and be low when it's engaged. Well, my trusty DMM (which I finally found!) shows that neither line is doing anything. They're both simply remaining low. Yes, I reconnected the battery when I tested them.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

S.

Default ONE of the wires should give you a ground when it's engaged/up.

put your red lead to power, black lead to one of the wires, check for ground....or just ground out the wire....

Default Both remain at 0V regardless of ebrake position...

I must be missing something..

Default what wires are you checking?

The e-brake switch is under the center console, pretty hard to get to unless you've got it out(the center console). With it removed, you can see the obvious function of the switch. Is that what you're checking?

Default Yeah, I've got that console removed.

Hooked my black lead to ground, then was probing the ebrake wires with the red lead...one of them should show 12V when it's disengaged according to the manual..

Default Just had a stroke of genius! ;)

I think I might know of something...

Going to run out and try it. If you don't hear back from me in 20 minutes, it worked.

TIA!

Default try this?

The thin blue wire from the timer unit is the parking brake interlock, which shuts off the timer if the parking brake is not set. Locate the parking brake switch under the plastic center console. Using your test lead, determine which wire is GROUNDED when the parking brake is raised. Tap the small blue wire into that one. (If you want to circumvent this whole feature, just ground the small blue wire, but we do NOT recommend doing this.)

copied & pasted from this link....

just try one, =)

Default You wire the ebrake to the turbo timer so that if somebody manages to break in to your car...

while the timer is counting down, the second they release the e-brake the engine will stop running. If you didn't wire the e-brake it is not biggie because if someone actually gets in it before the timer is done counting down they won't get far once the steering wheel locks. E-brake is just a nice feature to prevent getting your car back wrecked, assuming they don't know how to hotwire a car.
