Default Damn wet brakes almost got me killed today

I had to go to my hometown for a funeral this weekend and it's been raining the whole time. I've had the wet braking issue before, but today I hit it and the car just kept moving like nothing happened and I went out into an intersection and almost got hit by a Bud truck. For those who have gotten this fixed, what's it involve?

Default Thanks bug

Do you know where the actual problem is? I've been thinking about doing brakes after I did the suspension, but depending on what the problem is, I may have to readjust the priorities, that was pretty damn scary today.

Default I honestly haven't heard of a fix to the brakes...

from all that I've heard it's something that AoA really hasn't given a notice to (other than that little mudflap thingie).

I forget who it was that installed it, but I remember that he said that it did improve the situation.

I (knock on a 2.8 wood interior) have never really experienced this problem...

Default The winglets help nearly everyone. Some it nearly eliminates the problem and with others around a 60

percent improvement. Some (knock wood me) found that brake changes after adding the winglets did the trick but with others it did not. Do a search against 'Wet braking' in the S4 Forum and you'll find a thread that offers ideas from Stop Tech specific to their pads. Some of those who still have the issue after brake upgrades and winglets were planning on trying the pad re-bed discussed in that thread.

Default Don't waste your money upgrading brake components...

People have done that, and the problem still exists. Some will even tell you that the problem was even worse!

Talk to your dealer to see if they can install the little winglets. Those seem to help some people. Short of that, there is no fix, except to sell the car. Sorry.

Default There is no fix that works reliably. Make sure you...

file an official complaint with NHTSA. It's the only chance for relief since Audi has not even admitted there is a problem much less fixed it.

NHTSA complaint form
