Default Why have an A4 when you could have a WRX?

I have a 99 A4 Turbo with plenty of mods, and my roommate just bought a 2002 Subaru Impreza WRX. Man, that car might not be the best looking car, but it sure halls ***. I am really jealous becuase tonight he demonstrated just how bad *** that WRX is. He revved the rpms to about 5 grand and dumped the clutch, all four wheels burn out and the car takes off like a madman. Too bad the Audi that costs $5000 more has a **** poor clutch that grabs about as soft as a **** star. Not to mention that with the amount of money I have to spend to give my car 280 HP, he could have over 400.

Default They are a different class of car

I bought my A4 for its looks and interior craftsmanship. The wrx lacks either.

Default A few reasons...

As you already mentioned it looks a constipated frog. Second most of its speed is in the gearing, its got massive low end but really looses it in the high end. It looks like a frog. It may have AWD but it doesnt have quattro. The interior is no where near the standards of the A4. Infact the WRX interior is no better than a honda civic. A4 interior is almost just as beautiful as an S8s. It looks like a frog. Sure the WRX is alot of GO for a little price, unfortunatly thats all it is. BTW it looks like a frog.

Yeah, it may not have the best interior, and it may look like a frog(constipated or not), but it still wins every rally championship event. As far as top end goes, it really doesnt matter, because the WRX goes 0-60 in 5.4 secs, which is faster than an S4. I am just upset, becuase I really love my A4, but the upgrades cost too much damn money and even with APR Stage III+ you arent going to break 13's in a quarter mile. If you took a WRX, and put that much money into its engine, I would bet that it would run low 12's and hit 170mph. I doubt anyone has an A4 that can do that- if you do, you have invested well over $10k.

Default If you bought your A4 for speed then I think you purchased it for the wrong reason...

and about the rally thing, if Audi still ran in the rally events I dont think Subies would have it so easy. And if its only speed you want go pick up a supra and upgrade that. BTW another little bonus is that tricked A4s look sooo damn good that im sure you can pick up more chicks (if you dont already have one, or if you just want another one) in an A4 then u can in any constipated frog...i mean WRX.

Default They are two different types of cars

The wrx is a rally car. The A4 luxury sport sedan. 0-60 the wrx is faster than the S4, but 0-100 the S4 is faster. Not many people buy Audis to drag them. An A4 with chip/exhaust walks away from the wrx on the freeway, which is where it matters most to me. The two really should not be compared because they were designed to achieve different goals. Compare the wrx to an rsx or an evo vii not an A4/S4.

BTW when estimating the cost of upgrades to the wrx, make sure to include the cost of repairing the broken tranny.
