Can she be fixed?

On the way to the airport Friday I received this nice little gift. It's smaller than a dime. Before you ask, NO I can't get a free replacement.

PS--I f#$@ing hate 18-wheelers.

Where is it on your windshield?

I think if it's in the wiping area that they can't fix it, but if it's outside the wiping area they will fill it in and still pass you for inspection.

You don't have glass coverage on your insurance?

it can be fixed.

looked like a crack that one of the Tampa Veedubbers got after some rice kicked up a stone. He got it fixed no problem.

dead center left-to-right, probably 10" up from the bottom.

"Glass coverage" is apparently a subjective term, because the insurance jackasses just kept repeating my normal deductible.

you can always get the epoxy to fill it in so that it doesnt enlarge the crack.

temp fix until it can be replaced.

In Washington State if the ding is in the swept area of the wipers it cannot be repaired. It must be

replaced. So I'm guessing it is a state to state thing. Out here, there are enough firms who specialize in windsheild replacement that you can always find someone who does quality work and pays the deductable. Nice bennie since Washington uses chip seal on roads and thinks pea stone is sand. Washigton state also requires any insurers to provide two windshield replacements per year without impacting rates.
