A little story about the worst winter driving experience (Long)
I had the pleasure of driving from Burlington Vermont to Boston last night. The forecast called for light rain, but it turned out to be heavy rain just above freezing. So as the rain hit the road, it froze and caused a really hellish drive home. The Quattro ruled the night! I shadowed a A6 2.7T all the way down and never lost the road. The shoulders of I89 were loaded with victims of spin outs. This is where it gets interesting! I counted the body-count, check this out:
Total Spin Outs: 12 Vehicles
SUV's: 6 (There was a Bronco that actually tipped over)
Pickups: 4
Cars: 1
Minivans: 1
These people really think that they are unstoppable in their SUV's. The fact is that they they have no clue that they are driving a top-heavy brick on wheels. Another win for the Quattro!

You sound like an arrogant SUV driver =) Dont' forget, the quattro drivetrain will help you
go, but it won't help you stop, and it can actually make things worse when it comes time to turn. The single most important thing to have in crappy weather is a good set of snow tires, or at the least, aggressive tread all seasons. One of the scariest drives I ever took was in my Avant with the Goodyear all seasons (3 season tires really), got cought in a sudden hail/snow/rain storm similar to what we had yesterday, only more accum, and the car was nearly uncontrolable. My wife was behind me on the road had NO problems whatsoever in the A4 sedan with Blizzaks on it.
Moral:Tires are everything, quattro will allow you to take full advantage of the traction they afford you!
