X-Post: Q's on aftermarket HU's for my 2001

I am looking at HUs and in my old cars, I knew I had to get a single DIN or other. In the Audi, though, the space and layout is a lot different and the crutchfield listing offers me nothing. Can I just buy a single DIn unit and get that installed professionally?
What does that usually run?

No DIN kits currently available for 2000+ cars.

Can a shop put one in custom? Do I have other options or am I just screwed?

It'll have to be a custom install, but far from screwed. How clean the install is...

...will depend solely on the shop doing it and fabrication of parts.

So I can purchase any DIN and will just have to pay more than *average*....Thanks for the info

Custom din adaptor will prolly run you close to $200 if you want it factory matched. If not you can.

almost make one yourself out of thick abs....of course the fit and finish is not going to be as nice
