Default Boost problems (con't)

I reset the ecu today by disconnecting the + battery cable for a couple minutes, then putting it back on and tighteneing it down. My radio settings were still there, but I had to reset the time/date. I let the car sit in the "on" position for 1 minute, then started it up, and let it idle another couple minutes.

Proceeded to drive home...dusted a Civic Si that kept "lurching on me" in the next lane. About 15 minutes into my drive, boost went away again. Mind you, there is still bost, but not nearly as much as before"it" happened......you just feel it.

I did some food shopping, got back in, and once again, all was fine. I am really nervous to goto the dealer for obvious reasons. This has got to be an electronic isue IMHO, not a hose issue, since it goes away after to restart the car. What can I do?

Anyone on LI own a VAG tool...are VW scan tools the same? I want my quicker S4 back!!

Also left a voicemail for Pete/Bob @@ Strat where I bought the chip.

Good luck - I think he means taht you need to deprive the ecu of power for a while to reset it

Default maps are stored, like Rao said it takes a bit for the power to drain out and completely erase them

it's just a good starting point
to help diagnose the problem

Flash memory does not need power to retain data....

Bad gas and the ECU is dialing back the boost to prevent detonation?
