Diagnostics questions
What should I make of the following readiness code status exceptions:
Oxygen Sensor Heater
Oxygen Sensor Monitor
EVAP Sys. Monitor
Catalyst Monitor
These were noted as failures or some other thing like incomplete or somethingorother.

It depends - those tests won't even be run for some time after the chip is installed
They are only run under certain conditions. If they are marked failed there should be a corresponding code and a CE light.

another reason to swap ecu's a few days before a service appt.
it takes a few drive cycles for those readiness codes to go away.
if a dealer really wanted to find out if your playing the chip game. They would first look for a low power fault. and if that isn't there, then they can look at the readiness codes.
most dealers are too busy or lazy or uninformed to do this.
But there are some dealers who are jerks and seem to delight in voiding paying customers warranties evry chance they get.
lesson: be sneakier!

You can do what the dealers are supposed to do during PDI, and "set readiness"
The Bentley CD-ROM has instructions about how to trigger all of those tests. At least one requires driving at highway speeds, but the whole suite of tests can probably be run in under 30 minutes.
