OT: Basic car repair question for Jim de Arras or other skilled auto do it yourselfers (see link).
2) cut belt
3) remove alternator
4) install new alternator
5) install new belt
6) scratch head when new belt won't fit
7) go to room
8) turn on tv
9) hope your sister doesn't have a fit
10) go to bed
did you know this is what audi technicians do with most repairs?
just kidding!
good luck!
If the alternator belt cannot be easily accessed (i.e. you have to take other belts off to get at it, etc.) or the alternator itself is ahrd to get at, then it is a more difficult job. Check it out BEFORE you start or buy any parts.
Also, you can usually check out a servie manual at a local library if you like pictures. Have fun.
