Anyone have the Yokohama AVS Sport tires? (more)

how fast r they wearing down?
Thanks guys...I just think the are the coolest looking tires...I want to mount them on some rims from Turbo5: the AEZ BIMO
anyone have these rims?? I am dying to see them on an S4 in person..I am in LA. I will fly to your location (Im not kidding!) I only want to buy 1 set of rims, then forget about it. THANK YOU all for your input!
Almost forgot...I put the S4 in a car show in Burbank CA! check out the pic...there are other pics of the show as well in the same folder of my company's web site.

check out www.audizone.com -He has them. Most have 235/40/17

Yeah, I had a set of AVS Sports on all summer, size 235x40x17. Just changed them for my Nokian NRW snows since winter is fast approaching.

As far as road noise goes... they are *loud* -- at about 43mph, there's this loud humm, and pretty much at all speeds there's lots of noise. You get used to it, and it's not so loud that you can't talk to passengers, etc, but they definately are not quiet.

Now, as far as stickiness goes.... they are incredible. Best tires I've ever had on the street or track. They stick like mad and are not too bad in the wet (thought they do hydroplane fairly easy... look at the tread!)

For the money (I think I paid $165 each from TireRack) they are the best thing out there. Some people like the G-Force, but it's got much less tread than the AVS Sport. Probably better in ideal conditions, but if there's any sand, gravel, etc on the road, the AVS Sports will be better.

<center><img src="http://albums.photopoint.com/j/View?u=1174556&a=8648521&p=28134971"></center><p>I have Yokohama AVS S1-Z tires on my Porsche Boxster S that are 10" wide in back and 8.5" wide in the front (tires are: front, 225/40ZR18 88Y; rear, 285/30ZR18 93Y. I like them a lot - they aren't noisy and they seem to be wearing quite well.

The tread is actually desinged to reduce hydroplaning and I find this to be the case. I autocrossed on mine in a driving rainstorm and they were totally predictable. They are like S02's but better than your average tire.

The sidewall is kind of stiff which is good for turn in but not as good for ride quality (I have 245/40/18's). Great traction in dry. I sold my original 17's with AVS Sports to a friend with an M5 to use as track wheels. He is going to flog them pretty good this weekend at Sears Point. I will let you know what he thinks. He is desperate to wear them out so he can get R compounds. :-)

I meant easier to hydroplane than a "normal" tire. They are by no means horrible in the rain, just worse than the regular all-season radials. I drove them a few times back in Denver in 2" of water and they weren't bad, but I could definately get they to hydroplane easier than the RE040s.
