Comparison S4 vs. BMW 330iX (AWD) (No flames please)
Has anyone done a serious comparison between these two cars? Other than the S4 having more power, are there any other advantages over the BMW?

Not a good place to ask...but, here's my opinion.
Lets all be honest...the A4/S4 body style is a little bland compared to the new 3 series. While I did like the older 3 series more, the new one is pretty nice too. The 330 is a nice car in it's on right...and it's a bimmer. If your goal is to look cool, pull hoes, and whatever, then it's probably your car. If you really want to be fast, understated, and have a fun car thats more modifiable, get the S4. The S4 interior is nicer IMO too.
On a similar note, some guy in a 330 acted like he wanted some at a stop light the other day....Picture Dikembe Mutombo waving his finger, thats what I motioned. He still wanted to race. I bet he was embarassed losing to me so bad, considering how beautiful that blonde girl was sitting next to him.

I agree that the S4 is a more modifiable platform, but in terms of cost, they are very close to each other. I had an A4TQ for the last 2.5 years and I loved it until I sold it today. I was 100% sure about replacing it with a new S4, but then a friend of mine got the 330ix and I am having some second thoughts. My primary concerns were that I have not had a chance to see an S4 interior in person so all I have to go on is my 98 A4, but I know they have changed a lot since then.
Anyone out there willing to let me see their car?

Nice write-up
Speaking in favor of BMW:
- Better feel in the controls - steering, brakes, shifter.
- No turbo lag. Haven't driven a 330 but the power on a 328 is "more than adequate"
- Better balance
Speaking in favor of S4:
- Much better value
- Faster
- Reverse snob appeal
- The BMW X is engineered to be affordable not state-of-the-art

A friend just bought the 330xi for $3000 more then I paid for the S4. When we went to pick it up he
was shaking his head "Why did I buy this car instead of the S4?" To each his own I guess, but personaly the 330xi is just pitifuly slow and over priced.

A great place to ask depending on the answer I was looking for.
I don't think I could really buy a BMW. I was just looking from some reassurance from my fellow Audi brethern about my decision to purchase the S4. The hard part for me is buying it without having actually seen or driven one.
