My very own "Days of Thunder" scene.
Had a HPDE at PIR on Friday w/ Cascade. Hmm, anything exciting, well let's see, I had a "Days of Thunder" scene! :-O This new yellow Toyota MR2 was dropping a lot of white cloud fumes the first session, and I thought he missed a shift and blew his engine as it got progressively worse. He later said it was overfilled, apparently and he kept running in the next session. Smoke got worse and worse until finally he dropped this huge cloud right in front of me, pure white as I'm going into this turn behind a miata. My gut reaction was to lift, and I did for a while, but then my instructor (Cindy Lux, women's Global GT champion) says "stay on the throttle". While I'm praying the Miata does too. Yikes. :P Made it out okay, but boy my heart was beating fast!
Fun day, but 20 min. sessions suck, just as you get in the groove the checkered flag was pulled doh.

Oh, and I guess I was turning about 1:29's give or take a few seconds according to a WRX owner who only timed me on a couple and thought I was his female counterpart. ;-) That's only about 5 seconds slower than Galati's best qualifying lap, and I'm still running AVS Sports, and run K-03s (no downpipes either). Do you think it matters, we didn't run the chicane? Heh. :P

5 seconds, eh? I was about to ask if it was raining during Galati's qualifying run...
I ran 14 seconds off Galati's pace at Texas Motor Speedway (1:48 vs. 1:34), and that was in a virtually stock (except for brakes) S4 on AVS Sports too. Not bad, seeings my obvious 160hp and 500+ lb. disadvantage, not to mention all that other stuff their cars have too!

Dude, I was getting 140mph without the chicane 
Come to think of it, Alex was running 1:25's in his 4000 without the chicane at PIR, he ran a 1:22 once. Hmm, 1:29 is pretty good then!
