Has anyone removed their power steering module ?..

on their S4? I remembered many did in their A6 sedans,but haven't read many posts of anyone doing this or even if possible in the S4. Frankly, I'm spoiled with my '93 NSX's steering and would LOVE to reduce the excessive light steering response ;I just don't feel safe with this amount of "play"on hard driving my S4Avant.Besides changing the tires,is anyone finding it better to keep the power steering module off? Help

Actually of all the things on that motor to take off, that seems to be the easiest.....

You'd probably want just an idler pulley there, right? And just seal the lines.

I wouldn't touch it unless I only only only tracked the car. I think the steering is pretty tight compared to alot of other cars.

i think he is talking about that "serv-tronic" (?) steering module on the A6's

it tightens up the turning ratio at low speed to make parking lot driving eaiser. some of the A6 guys pull the relay to get tighter steering

but to awnser your question, no it can not be done on S4/A4 they dont have that relay/feature

That 's exactly what I meant. Since it's not avail on the S4...???options..

what other options are there on reversable reduction on this God awful excessive "assisted power steering?" I guess my manual steering NSX spoiled me but with all the potential in these S4 (especially modified), how do many drivers enjoy doing track? The only advantage is with sustained lap times, my NSX gets pretty tiring on the hands, but don't know if I can feel comfortable on going hard into turns with this much numbness,laxity.
Anyone offer other ideas besides tire/wheel options on this problem? Come'on there are more track people on this forum than with the NSX, anyone tried something simple electronically?
