Default I just ordered my track tires and wheels from Tirerack. The new Kumhos are in stock.

I got the new Kumho Victoracer V700s in the 225 variety on the Superleggera 18x8 wheel. The SSR Comps in the 18" are out quite a few months from delivery (Eddie told me Feb), but I was glad on avoiding Hoosiers for the moment

The Kumhos were $175/tire and the wheels were $329 a wheel, mounted and balanced, ready to slap on the car.

Eggcelent, Smithers.

Default wow, them Kumhoe's are expensive...

do you think they will go down in price?
So does it help if you're rolling on 18" at the track. I would have thought that 17" would be better suited.

Default No, I don't think those Kumhos will go down...

Unfortunately as far as rolling on 17" or 18" wheel on the track is considered, you are correct. But alas, I have no choice as the wheel size is being dictated by the front brakes I have.

This is one thing to consider if you are going to be tracking your car quite a bit. A larger brake kit choice will ultimately yield greater and greater expenses when it comes to brake pads, rotors, wheels, and tires.

Default I have a big brake system and I am still using 17's on the track....

why do you think using 17's on the track is a problem with big brakes??

I have a 355mm rotor that neccesitates the 18" wheel. You probably have the 332 or 322mm rotor.
