Default Finally back in Cali! That was one hell of a road trip...(lots of pics)

Officially, it was 12 days, 4460.2 miles, 81 hrs 54 min total on 15 tanks of gas from Edison, NJ to San Rafael, CA. I'll do a complete, in depth right up once I get all of Jenn's pics, it was basically a strip club tour of the country, but here's the quick and dirty...

Day 1 (Oct 11)- Edison, NJ to McLean, VA
Nothing cool to report...boring drive, but got my loaded down S's *** handed to me on 495 by some dude in a Boxster S (had exhaust, don't know what else).

<img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/10210/mclean.jpg">
Nice 'n clean in McLean

Day 2 - Chillin in McLean with the fam and went out at night in Baltimore.

Day 3 - Back in McLean, went out to Georgetown and Dupont Circle at night.

Day 4 - McLean to Knoxville, TN
Trip really starts - Drive out to Shenandoah NP, and do Skyline Drive (real ****ty weather, though). Original dest. was Bristol, TN, but that looked like a ****ty town (no offense), so we went on to Knoxville. Long day.

Skyline Drive in the fog

Day 5 - Knoxville, TN to Atlanta
Nothing notable except, got a ticket from State Trooper on I-75 in Cleveland, TN - got hit with an instant-on from some bastard in hiding in the trees. 87 in a 70 zone, $158 fine. Sucks.

Went to the Pink Pony - spectacular, one of the best clubs I've been too.

Day 6 - Atlanta to New Orleans
Another long day - went through Montgomery, AL to the Gulf Coast - very cool drive. New Orleans was a riot, of course...we proceeded to get housed.

Went to Temptations (skanky chicks) and Larry Flynt's Hustler Room (quality chicks doing a lot of quality pole work!)

Day 7 - New Orleans to Austin, TX
Longest day of the trip - not good to do hung over. Some cool **** in LA (bayous are really cool), but had to deal with I-10 (Baton Rouge to Houston), by far the worst road (condition-wise) in the whole country. ****ing sucked. Didn't get into Austin until 10 (cuz we left NOLA around noon).

<img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/10210/lovely_texas.jpg">
Rest stop in beautiful Texas

Day 8 - Austin to Amarillo, TX
No offense, but I hate Texas, it's too ****ing big, and so are the bugs! Boring drive. Went to a cool honky-tonk bar (Midnight Rodeo) in Amarillo, though.

Day 9 - Amarillo to Gallup, NM
Stopped in Santa Fe for a while, very pretty town. Stayed in Gallup - another ****ty-*** town, but a definite culture shock.

El Capitan Motel - Gallup, NM

Day 10 - Gallup to Vegas
Awesome drive - stopped in Flagstaff, AZ and Sedona, AZ along the way...absolutely beautiful. Also hit up the Hoover Dam before rolling into Vegas. Shacked up at the Hard Rock - cool place, great time (lot of hot chicks, too).

Went to the Club Paradise - great strip club, much better IMHO than the overrated OG.

Day 11 - Vegas to Bishop, CA
Went through Death Valley, another beautiful, high speed drive (got up to 137, but pussed out before hitting the limiter). Eastern Sierra are totally amazing.

Zabriskie Point, Death Valley

Day 12 - Bishop to San Rafael, CA
Took 395 up to Mono Lake, then into Yosemite over Tioga Pass, perhaps the most beautiful part of the whole trip. Breath-taking. Then we hit the Central Valley. We did a short excursion to Sacto to visit Jenn's bro, then finally made it back around 8 last night.

Overall, it was an absolutely amazing trip, I could have added on a couple days, though, to eliminate some of the 500+ mile days...best of all Jenn doesn't want to strangle me after being confined with me for so long! (Although she thinks I'm retarded I took so many pics of my car!)

But now it's time to pamper my ride - she's gonna get fully detailed today, then get her 20K mile service oin Thurs (whoops - she's at 23K miles now! Hopefully I didn't do too much damage!) Lates.

Default FYI: Cop's can't hide in trees. They have to be visible from the road. (at least in NM and CO.)

I got out of a ticket this way. The cop was hiding in some trees on a blind corner. Told the lawyer and the ticket was thrown out.

Sure, they can hide. They hide in New York all the time on the Thruway to Harriman.
