Default Question about Samco hoses and other silicone hose replacements.

I'm not sure I understand the point of replacing all our hoses. If the F-hose (Which the 2001's don't have?) and the TBB have been isolated as the sources of the problem, then why not simply replace these? Why pay over $300 to replace other hoses just for the sake of it?

If someone could explain the rational, I'd appreaciate it.

Thanks!

Default mmmm....thanks?

I found the Samco hoses to be rather useless as I kept having them tear.

Get the same stuff from the stock TBB, cheaper too.

Default Well....

I don't think it's just one or two weak hoses. It's been speculated that the composition of the stock hoses allow for flex under boost, which in turn may result in uneven boost levels.

About 6 weeks ago, just a couple weeks before Corey and I headed to the solo2 nationals, my TBB gave way. The first time in almost a year, and the only time since swapping to Bailey BPVs nearly a year ago. We replaced the TBB with another factory TBB (the T version). Still, while the main leak was fixed, we still had some uneven boost. We thought maybe the BPVs were the culprit. I pulled those, checked them out, nope, they're still in good shape. We were running out of time before nationals, so we called AWE and ordered the Samco hose kit.

We replaced most -- but not all -- of the hoses before nationals and had a noticeable improvement in response and solid maintenance of boost (no more waivering). Notably, we did not yet replace the F-hose, nor the TBB. Those remain stock, yet we had a appreciable improvement in performance.
