Round 2 of City of Redmond -vs- Yours Truly today :(

Ughh... I wish this bad dream would come to a pleasant end soon. They will likely offer me a "bargain" today. My lawyer thinks they will reduce the charges to a simple "Negligent driving" charge and offer me the "If I'm good for a year it will disapear" deal. It should be interesting. If I turn down there "offer" then we will meet again in trial (jury and everything) in January

Talk about a ROYAL waste of tax payers $$!!!!!!!

I'm still on my 'good for one year', probation period...

Make sure you get the final date on when the probation period ends, I was so happy at getting my speeding ticket 'deferred for one year, which will then disappear w/ no further infractions', I forgot to check when the period is over and I can (sort of) breathe easier. Still driving on eggshells, kinda. ; )

BTW, only ONE more week to warm KKs... mmmmm can't wait. When's our event to celebrate Issaquah's GRAND opening?

Nice choice...

Copping to something you didn't do (negligent driving), or taking a chance with a jury. Funny how our legal system works. Despite appearances, Redmond still is the backwater town it was 15 years ago.

Hmmm...pragmatism vs. idealism...in this case a sucky choice.

and If I take my chances with the jury and LOSE, then I could spend up to 5 days in jail and/or have thou$ands in fines. ALSO, I would have to have special high risk "Drunk driver" insurance (there is some fancy name for it but I cannot remember it) for 3 years!!I would likely have to sell my car because I wouldn't be able to afford the insurance. Racing is equal to DUI and thus my penalties would be the same! UNBELIEVABLE!!!!
