Default Raced an M5

I was traveling south on 85 when a beautiful M5 comes right on my tail. A smile immediately plants itself right on my face when i see he has 3 passengers in the car(knowing weight was on my side). The wait for slower traffic to clear instilled that feeling a child gets while waiting for Christmas morning. After what seemed like 30 miles later both lanes were clear. I pull over and he looks at me a smiles. The race is on! our inital speed was about 65. I downshift and let my APR do its magic (stage 2) and pull away by ABOUT 1.5 CAR LENGTHS!! i was ahead until about 100 when the muscle of the M5 creeps up and I decide to slow it down seeing as my passenger/ girlfriend was yelling and for fear of her loosing control of her uninary tract, i backed off. So did he. As he left the columbus exit- he gave a thumbs up.
Now i am quite sure had the race continued up until aerodynamic coefficents matched engine output, that he would be there way before I. The grunt of the M5 is respectable! So is the S4! I am sure he will think differently of the s4 in the future. Thumbs up to all S4's!!

I don't think that the M5 was even trying. 400 NA hp is a fricken rocket. Maybe he didn't downshift

Default Well Scorch said that he has APR stage 2. I think you can keep up with an M3...

,which is faster with an M5, with APR stage 1(Chip, exhaust, filter= 320hp). i dont know how much Stage 2 adds on.

Default stage 2 is ~ 345hp/ 388lbs

Default Disagree...

400 hp 4,200 lbs with driver
Stage II 350 hp 3,800 lbs with driver..

a lot closer than you might think..

also.. the M5 is a beast to launch TC off, it is hard to modulate wheelspin, TC on, no power gets to the wheels in 1st.. At a traffic light it is fairly even.. In fact I have found that the M5 is so minimally faster that you can hang right with them up to about 110.

Some notes on that.. the S4 needs to be ON boost, and IN the correct gear before playing with them.

what would you suggest shift points as at highway speeds (65??)

Default Uhhhh... you forgot the MAJOR part of the equation:

AWD vs. RWD

RWD is going to walk away from an AWD car ANY DAY of the week. I know the S4 has some mph on top, but I don't think it has that much... not on pump gas.

The race was a 65 mph roll on, traction was a non-issue

Default stage 2 is 320hp and the M5 is slightly (but noticably) faster than stage 2

we are not talking about race program, but regular program. I think the race program with exhaust would be very close though...
