...So i was swapping my ecu chip, minding my own business and...
I have decided to send in my GIAC chip to have it reprogrammed into an X chip. I don't use my car everyday, but it's nice to know that if i needed it, I would be able to use it. So, when I removed the ecu, I just plunked the stock chip back where the GIAC chip was (which is where it originally was, except that now it is removeable by hand). I also figured that this would be a good chance for me to take the car in for its scheduled service and oil change.
Guess what: the car won't start with the stock chip in. I thought 'maybe i just put it in upside down', and tried again. Still no luck.
So now I'm beginning to wonder: did i screw something up by taking out the ECU for its second time? I'm also wondering if i should even risk sending my GIAC chip in to be reprogrammed. What if it doesn't work? Right now, the only chip that works is my current version of the GIAC. And i haven't even tried it since i took it out. Maybe if i put it back onto the motherboard and tried to start the car, it would now be ****ed up as well. Hmm...
