Toyed with a 540i 6spd ....

He just rolled up next to me at the red light. Neither or us launched very hard, I basically went straight from ideal, same for him.

We were neck and neck up till approx 70 and then he pulled slightly ahead, a quarter of a car, before we had ot back off (stop sign)...

I did run first gear a little too long (6800 RPM) and have 100 extra pounds of crap in the trunk but should a stock S4 beat this car. I beleive C and D pulled a 5.7 in the 540i ...

I found out it is a coworker so we are planning to have some fun again.

they're pretty close stock...

and since a real launch is usually a deciding factor in a race between otherwise equalish cars, once you eliminated that you had pretty much a "fair" race. Shifts would have been a factor too.

Don't feel bad...just try to set up a real "race" and if you get a decent launch, you should leave him in 2WD hell.
