sad but true... B6 3.0 Quattro tip sport suspension vs. B5 S4 with aftermarket suspension - B6 wins.
the 3.0Q on the stock sport suspension, stock wheels + stock tires
rides like a champ. The stiffened chassis
and redesign made a huge difference. feels a
whole lot more solid...
and it comes with a better suspension - performance wise...
than any B5 S4 i've ever driven... cept maybe
Pong's with his stasis 700/800 rate springs...
but where the stasis will make wonder if you
broke any teeth over rough pavement, the
3.0 stock sports suspension will let you know
the imperfections in the pavement are there...
but it does this without breaking your teeth.
the car feels a whole lot more solid than
the B5's... and the memory seats are damn nice.
tiptronic is waaaay better... drive by wire isn't
such a PITA either on NA cars... and the interior
IS a step up... albeit only a small step up IMHO.
now, if i could only get over missing two
gauges and requiring a bodykit at delivery...
needless to say... the B6 S4 should be interesting.
i have a feeling there won't be much left
to "tune"... possibly not even brakes unless
you're REALLLLY hardcore into track driving.
there are 15k careless miles on the B6 I drive
from time to time (my sister just doesn't care)
yet... it feels better than many babied B5's
I've driven.
The B6 S4 should be... interesting...
