today's thoughts: Inlet pipes, XM, K04's and a simple sub all kick ass and I hope tomorrow AMS will
On some other notes. XM radio really kicks ***. I love it! If you spend any serious time in the car it's well worth the 10 dollars a month. I wish there was a really nice way to install it but I'm pretty happy with the small panisonic control unitl just to the right of the wheel on the wood pannel. It's nice that the passengers can't change your radio stations...The 18 presets they give you hardly seem like enough but you can get a good starting point with them and organize them by style etc. The sound quality over the FM modulator really is amazing. I'm not missing a "direct" connection at all and this is coming from someone who runs a recording studio...I think my ears are more critical then the average and for fun listening music in the car its terrific. To me its like an MP3 - I can slightly hear the digital compression but its still cleaner then a normal radio station.
I also added a simple Bazooka tube sub into the trunk. Not very large and just strapped in so it can come out easily. I know there are a LOT of better and more elegent ways to get some more bass out of the frankly lacking bose system, but for 200 bucks this thing realyl does the trick. The lowmid through highs on the BOSE really are pretty awesome and having that 250hz and lower range really pushed now just makes the music sound so much fuller. Someday I might look into a real audio setup in the car but for now this method really does work great.
My AMS chip comes back tomorrow I'll be sure to write up a report!!!!
