Default Poll: Do you drive like an old lady when your oil is cold?

I know I do. It's rather annoying on the morning commute, because my oil doesn't warm up until I'm nearly at work. People are passing me, people are tailgating me, all the while I'm thinking "don't tailgate me a$$hole, my car can rip yours a new one!"

But then I take a deep breath, and remind myself that if I am not kind to my turbos, they will not be kind to me.

Default i was just thinkin the same exact thing...

every time i drive away and my turbos are no where near warm, i drive like the car is going to break apart.

other cars honk, flick me off, give me brights, tailgate, etc. you name it i have seen it. and this is even the right hand lane where i stay until i have warmed up the car properly....

yeah i guess it does take that extra patience to know your turbos are more important that the **** others give ya for em.... :-/

Default I'm more worried when I'm babying it and have a tailgater that...

the "Stoptech" effect will result in me getting rear-ended.

Default oh yeah.

I use less than an inch of throttle travel, don't crank my steering wheel to lock, shift before 2500, and take a longer route that doesn't involve as much stop and go. I drive Miss Daisy to work, basically. Now that's it colder oustide, I may have to find an even longer route, as I'd like my oil to get at least somewhat warm.

Default No

this warming-up thing is a bit exaggerated. I'm not saying you should floor it upon startup, but you don't have to "baby" it until oil reaches 175F. Just use common sense, make sure your oil is proper viscosity and changed in time.

Default Yup, yesterday I got in my car was waiting at a light when a WRX owner looked over at me like he (m)

could eat me for breakfast (completely stock). I just thought to myself, man, if only my turbos were warm... I'd show you that your car isn't all that.
