That's about how much a 3.0 A4 weighs...

...throw in 20Kg more engine mass and 18" wheels and the luxury options that come with an "S" model, and I don't see how it will weigh less. And I won't believe a single number Audi quotes. Historically, those have a habit of being 100-200 lbs. lighter than what the car actually weighs.

That is just ridiculous. Almost as heavy as RS6, M5, S-TypeR, E55.

That really sucks. There is no way I'm buying a "Sports Sedan" like that. Pretty disappointed. =(

It'll be one fat pig I tell ya! :-)

Most of the power will be wasted on lugging that porky thing around.

So the info that the new 4.2 weighs slightly less than the 2.7T isn't true?

Even if it weighs slightly less, the fact that the new chassis weights more than the B5

(an A4 3.0 weighs around 3700 lbs) will most likely mean that the next S4 will be more than 3700. I don't really see how it can be less. We'll see though.
