boost gauge question..

boost gauge question..
okay, so that little brass fitting looking thing that hold the hold down on the back of the boost gauge.. the screw part, do you think i can run down to home depot and pick up one of those things? if not, where do you think i can?

yep...you can...I broke one when installing my VDO mechaincal boost gauge....
are you talking about the thing that tightens down to hold the boost/vacuum line into the gauge?
I found it (or something very similar) at Home depot...I believe in the brass fitting aisle

yeah, thats what i need.
the one with the small hole.
i went to home depot, i found the 1/8 brass cap, but they didnt have any with the holes.
did you find them with the holes in them?

well, sort of, what I did was get a coupler that fit the boost line...
the really small one going from the FPR line (that you tapped with the T thing to get the boost info) to the boost gauge...anyway, what came with your boost gauge was probably something that connected that line to your gauge...Home Depot did not have that exact thing, so what I got was a couple that connected that line to little bigger hose (which I got at Pep Boys autopart store) - I then connected that little bigger hose to the boost gauge...it's tight and I'm reading boost and vacuum correctly so I guess it works. Just bring the gauge with the line the the store and try things out - that's what I did. You are really only needing something that will take boost pressure and connect it to the gauge without leaks...it really does not matter what size all these lines are once they are connected because it is a closed system and you are only looking to see pressure changes.
