Default V1....no question. And when it's out of date, update it for 1/2 the cost.

rather than throw it out.

Default I would suggest a search. This is asked about once a week.

I have a V1, but never had the k-40 so I cant give you a good opinion.

Default V1...saved my butt at least 50 times no joke...true winnar :)...but for real...

it has 360 degree protection pretty much too, which is very useful...

but as you know...NOTHING will prevent you from getting any speeding tickets, because those pesky porkers can..."pace" you down to a 1/10th of mph..haha.

v1...no question for the price...plus like smokin_s4 said...upgrades are available when its outdated.

Default Not familiar with the k-40. V1 seems like a good buy. I have 8500 and luv it. Saved me mucho

times on K, Ka, and a few Laser hits. It's cheaper than the V1, more asthetically pleasing to the eye, and less annoying/harsh alarm sound.

Default acording to plenty of tests ive seen the K-40 is not very good!!

i did alot of research when i was looking for a laser diffuser, and ran across multiple tests on the k-40 for laser and radar. In my experience and the test i seen in the week i was looking V1 for radar and Lidatek for laser!!!

Default Order a V1 and an 8500, return the one you don't want

Both should still offer a 30 day trial. I kept the 8500.

My friend has a V1, and having seen it work first-hand, I just ordered one.

Default I have been testing V1 and Bel 985 side by side for the last month, and.....

V1 wins hands down. More sensitive to both Ka and laser, and on "L" mode, fewer falses. Oh, and the directional arrows AND quantified signal counts should not be underestimated. Unfortunately, I haven't tried the K-40.
