Default Repost: I need impressions on coilovers(KW V2, H&R S4, FK, B&G)????

I am looking for a street/track set-up that is externally height adjustable for a price of $1300 or less, so STASIS is out of my budget.

$1045 for KW variant 2 is a great price at pro-imports.com

SPP told me that H&Rs blow out easily, so they are trying to sell me FK coilovers

GJAime told me about the KW that is a current group buy. Anyone else have this set-up?

Default Take that H&R statement with a grain of salt.

Some may have blown out, but there are probably many, many more that are just fine. H&R sells a lot of suspension sets...

I know that both of us piggies (Mike and I) have H & R ultras, which haven't blown.

Default agree, but lately the problem hasn't been lots of people blowing them out

its been availability of the coilovers and the real PITA it is to try and get replacement shocks when they do blow out.

Default I had H&R streets for over 2 years

and I think that bang-for-the-bank it's a great suspension. It offers a lot more control over stock, but is compliant enough to be extremely smooth riding.

Yes there have been reports of blown shocks, but like anything else, those reports go way up when it's one of the most popular packages out there. Would I still recommend the H&R's even though I have now have Stasis? You bet I would...

Default What about these from Stasis?

They are a Koni product, but cheaper than the H&R Streets by quite a bit (they are under $1000 from Stasis). Also, since they are Koni dampers (as opposed to gas dampened in the H&R), there may be less likihood of a blowout, if you are really concerned about it.

Default i thought H&R's were liquid...hence the puddles of

fluid lying on the garage florr indicating your shock is toast?

Default To the best of my knowledge, the H&R Streets use Bilstein dampers. I thought they were gas

charged. I could be wrong though.

Default Are those also ride height adjustable?

I think the dampening can be adjusted (reboudn adn compression together), but what about actualy ride height?
