When to shift?

During normal driving at what RPM do you shift out of first to second? I usually do it from 2700-3000, is there a more efficient and smoother range? I also hear that if you shift out too soon, it's as not efficient. true?

Actually, the MOST efficient way to drive the car would be lugging it...

1/2-3/4 throttle and shifting near 2k RPM. It's neither smooth or good for the car though.

I love the sound of my G2 so I regularly wind up to 4k or above even at partial throttle. ;-)

I shift 2700-3000 when warming up, a little above 3K when fully warmed up (around 3200 or 3300)

I find it kinda jerky to shift at below 3K RPM and let the clutch out...it's a lot smoother to shift

at a little above 3K...of course I normally shift at 4K when fully warmed up...

4K cold, 5-6K warm

who knows really. Most of the time I ride out first a bit but I'm sure sometimes i'd say my average is about 4500rpms.

And highway crusing is in 3rd or 4th? :-)

Or do you even use 4th & 5th - just go from 3rd to 6th all the time?
