Default would you buy a modded s4?

if it had low miles and still had a warranty?

miltek downpipes
Borla catback
H&R Bilstein suspension
Forges BOV
StopTech brakes conversion (2 piece)
UUC shortshifter
18" BBS w/potenza so3
everething has less than 1000 miles

the bov would come off right away.

Default Depends what was modded... Some affect reliability more than others

If it has a brake/suspension setup I liked, yeah. Chipped is another matter, but thats just me.

Default With those mods listed, I would be very suprised if they never had a chip.

I would keep looking unless you love his choice of mods.

Default It would depend on the mods and if I knew who owned it....

If it has serious mods like mine, there is no warranty anyway. Even with just an exhaust, I have heard of dealers refusing to honor warranty on turboes. So if warranty is an issue (my personal feeling is that most dealer mechanics are so bad I wouldn't let them touch my S4 warranty or not) then you do not want any mods.

Also I would have to know the person that owned it and the car's usage history. Not all modded cars are driven hard and run into the ground. Many are, but so are many stock vehicles. I personally pamper my S4 to excess. I detail it monthly and all maintenance is done by time intervals reguardless of how low the mileage has been between the intervals (just going to cross over 2000 miles this coming weekend), never track or drag race, and never drive it in the rain or snow (if I do drive it in the winter, I heat the garage before starting it so it has never been subjected to real cold weather starting). People who know me have no worries about buying a modded car from me. I already have one friend that refers to the S4 as his next car. Unless you know a car's history, however, I would be very careful about buying any high performance car; modded or not.

Default Sure, there is nothing wrong with a modded S4 save you $$$

Nothing wrong with it being chipped either. Good luck finding a car that hasn't been chipped. I would prefer the previous owner be honest and admit it was chipped than deal with someone a little more unscroupolous how may not only be misleading about chip status but other stuff.
