Ran the car at Road America this past weekend....
No passing in turns, must be waved by in the straights.
I was running 245 40 18 Dunlop Super sport race tires. Having nothing to compare them to as far as race tires, I would say that I don't like them much. Even with 40 psi cold in the front, it was still rolling under so much that it was wearing the lettering off the sidewall.
I ordered Hawk race pads, and ended up recieving Hawk street pads, so I used them as I had no alternative. I ran 6 20 minute sessions, and they are almost completely gone, and the rotors are toast.
I was hitting about 125mph on the front and back straights.
The car has stock suspension, and if I went into a corner too fast (basically if I had brake fade), the car would oversteer, requiring a decent amt of correction. If I went into a corner good, but accelerated out too early, it would push a bit.
From the first to 3rd lap, there was a noticeable difference in power. I was running 50% 100 octane for some insurance. Oil was 10-30 royal purple, and oil temps after 20 minutes of racing, were a needle widths past the 250 mark on the stock gauge.
Best lap was a 2:50 in traffic (and slowing down on the front straight for a service truck).
Disclaimer: -I am not a professional driver, I don't know **** about road racing, these are just my personal observations.
What are your alignment settings? Is your suspension okay? What width rims? That just seems really weird.
It's hard to say, though. They're definitely rolling over pretty far.
