Bringing Audi to Life for Audi Fans
I wired it according to installation instructions. (i did not input the audio of the kit into my stereo, for now it's using the motorola speaker that came with the kit).
When I start the ignition, the kit auto-seeks the bluetooth phone and attaches itself. When the engine cuts off, so does the attachment to the kit. I leave my phone in my pocket at all times and I use the voice features of the phone, not of the kit. You will have the choice of either, but trust me, you want to use the V710's features. (default option).
Of course there are installation instructions and post config, but it's all by the book. I got my kit from verizon B2B site @ corporate discount for 120 i think. I can get you a link if you want. If you have any questions, let me know.
1) I was not able to use the "swap oem microphone with motorola microphone" trick because the newer version of the motorola mics are not the same as the old ones that inspired that trick and do not fit in the oem location at all. - I was however able to locate the moto mic very close to the oem mic location.
2) I use the motorola speaker right now, but this will change when I cut the wires @ the speaker end and plug them into the back of my nav+.
Oh, And I'm very happy with the audio quality of the kit in my car, road noise kind of sucks sometimes, but it does with all speaker phone situations. The kit is plenty loud though, I often leave it at 80% volume.
I can place calls at any time just by pressing the voice activation button (located on the HF800). The stereo mutes, and responds, "say a command" ; I say "name dial". Etc.
If you are not familiar with the V710's voice recognition features, you can play around with them using the button on the right side of your phone. This is the interface my BT kit interacts with.
Only minus side: RingTones do not play thru the kit, instead the kit beeps. 5 of the most simple V710 tones will play thru, but since the BT kit does not change the profile when it connects, I opt for the beep.
if you have any more quesitons, please send me an email, I'd be happy to help.
The HF850 looks like the same kit with just a different controller, I would buy that one if I was doing it over again.<ul><li><a href="http://www.macmall.com/macmall/shop/detail.asp?dpno=496631&store=macmall&sourc e=mwbfroogle&adcampaign=email, mwbfroogle&w t.mc_id=mwbfroogle">I have this one</a></li></ul>
