boost leak or turbo failure?

i have lost what i feel is substantial power while accelerating. i hear a whistle type sound when pushing on the gas pedal at low speeds. car has 43K on a 2000 S4 bought last week...i drove to the dealership and they can't get me in until next monday. should i be driving the car at all or should i be fine until they look at the car. will VAG-COM tell me anything at all? Thanks for the advice.

I take you don't have a boost gauge right?

I jst started having the same problems. I live in DC and my car has been sitting in the airport open lot under the weaher. I just got back and drove fine on friday from the airport and over the weekend. Just yesterday I notice a big lag when accelerating and black smoke on the back pipe. VAG-COM doesn't give me any fault codes. Can you share what the fix was for your car?
