If I bought an aftermarket warantee for ONLY non-modded parts intent, would it be a smart investment
Or do they cancel the entire thing and keep your cash at the first sign of a chip? I am unchipped but I've heard people say that they don't want to remove SS, DTS, CHIP, EXHAUST, SUSPENSION just to get service done.
Moe: "What would you like me to do?"
Homer: "Make me as dumb as I was before."
[Moe jams the crayon up Homer's nose]
Homer: "De-fense! De-fense!"
Moe: "Humm. That's pretty dumb. But still..."
[Jams crayon further up Homer's nose]
Homer: "Extended warranty?! How can I loose?!"
Moe: "That's dumb enough."
ok enough of me being an ***, I think an extended warranty is a wise decision for a used audi but the fact that you will be modding it will exclude you from many of the big budget repairs. you should think about what is not covered and determine the expected loss (e.g. what can break that will not be covered under the warranty due to modification or related to said modification). the warranty is simply an expected loss plus a premium, but what you are paying for is the expected loss of associated components that you will no longer be covered for with new mods.
basically what I am tryin to say in a most likely highly confusing way is that you are going to pay quite a bit for a warranty that in the event that the company honors claims not associated with modifications or wear (most expensive items are wear items anyway or related to mods- turbo, control arms, tie rods, brakes, timing belt, belts, hoses, etc) it is unlikely that you will benefit from the warranty and might be better off putting the money that would have been applied to the cost of the warranty into a repair fund.
