Well, after 7 events on the ECS stage III kit that I bought used, it's time for a rebuild.
I was swapping back to street pads tonight and noticed that the dust seals were in terrible shape. Lots of cracking, and one of them wasn't even seated anymore - it was just hanging out around the piston doing basically nothing. I tried to push it back in place, but it wasn't staying. :-/
Anyway, I push these brakes pretty hard at the track, so I suppose that this is routine maintenance for such usage. I've had them for a little over a year now, and the previous owner had them for probably the same amount of time with no tracking. I'd say that's pretty good wear so far. Otherwise, they perform just fine.
Anyway, don't neglect to check your rubber when moving your piston in and out. If you spring a leak, the consequences could be dire.
