Our cars are externally wastegated and they can be replaced if they get stuck.
So if ATP gives the option for their K03/K04 eliminator turbos whether the wastegate is internal or external, which one would you choose and why.

Did the car overboost? If so did the dealer perform a compression/leak down test? Might want to keep an eye on oil/water levels for a while to rule out any headgasket or ring sealing issues.

Our turbos have a wastegate actuator that could be replaced, but the wastegate itself is integral to the turbo.
As others in this thread said, an external wastegate is a device that is entirely disconnected from the turbo and can be replaced on its own.
