Can you put a 2002 S4 ECU in a 2000 S4 if they are both Tipronic?

What is the advantage of using a 2002 ecu in a 2000 tip?

no advantage that I know of. I need an ECU and that is available

Default no ESP in the 2000, could cause problems
I have never heard of a non-esp car running on an ESP ECU. The ECU will be looking for stuff that isn't there. No signals, or feedback.

Default 2000 S4s have a Bosch MAF and 2001+ models have Hitachi.
The MAFs read differently so the ECUs are not interchangeable. Also ESP (or lack thereof on the 2000 model) might be an issue.
